Artists Description
The Scroll of Carrion, lutruwita Tasmania, is an interactive artwork inspired by medieval mortuary scrolls, shedding light on the horrific roadkill rate of Tasmanian fauna.

Engaging multiple senses, it visually depicts the stark reality of loss while audibly tolling a bell representing another innocent animal lost.

By inviting viewers to inscribe their thoughts, it creates a personal connection, and serves as a poignant call for us all to act to safeguard our precious fauna.

Crafted from a pianola scroll, its perforated surface symbolises the fauna lost, evoking a silent elegy.
