Cafe Tissardmine Morocco
In March 2023 I was accepted and embarked on a three week artist residency at Cafe Tissardmine in Morocco. Cafe Tissardmine is not for the faint hearted being located in a very remote part of Morocco on the edge of the Saharan desert. But it was this isolation and solitude that drew me to this very special place and allowed me to create for three weeks solid exploring a very unique landscape, and culture. A experience that profoundly affected my creativity and filled me with immense joy.
Supporting Women in Morocco
Following my time at Cafe Tissardmine 20% of all sales of my Moroccan work go towards the sponsorship of one young woman’s university tuition. Her family until the 1990’s where still nomads of the desert. Her father who has since passed knew the world was changing and supported and encouraged his daughters to seek an education, not a common thing, understanding the power education can bring to changing the life chances of not only one person but a family and their community.
